Using Public Transportation

MAS is required to provide a medically appropriate mode of transportation that is generally the same that an enrollee uses for their everyday activities, such as grocery shopping, visiting family and friends and worship.

In most cases, Public or Mass Transit is the most medically appropriate mode that enrollees use for their everyday activities. While Public or Mass Transit requires a “fare” at the point of use, MAS makes this process simple by distributing transit passes directly to the enrollee either via mail, or via the enrollee’s medical facility. Using public transit is not only easy, but also offers flexibility as well as on-time performance, so the enrollee will never be late for an appointment.

MAS is working hard at making this process even easier with future technological innovations to automatically load a public transit fare directly to a public transit card.
